The Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program - (DADAP) was developed to provide drivers with a comprehensive overview of the damaging effects that alcohol and drugs can have on a person's mind and body, and how these effects lead to dangerous and often deadly driving situations. The DADAP course also addresses several Texas laws that relate to the use of alcohol and other drugs while driving. Who Can Take the DADAP Course?
ANY Texas driver can take the coursevoluntarily for a 3-year automobile insurance discount of up to 5%. The 6-hour DADAP course is required by certain courts when an individual has been convicted of an alcohol, tobacco and/or traffic related offense. Texas law authorizes attendance of a DADAP course for satisfaction of several different types of offenses.
The DADAP course consists of six-hours of instruction and is presented in three 2-hour classroom sessions taught during our normal Driver Education program. Students who are currently enrolled in our Driver Education program can receive the "Certificate of Completion" for only $25.00.
This will enable the student to become eligible to obtain an additional 5% discount on their insurance costs.
