Earn an Additional 5% Off Your Insurance Costs

The Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program - (DADAP) was developed to provide drivers with a comprehensive overview of the damaging effects that alcohol and drugs can have on a person's mind and body, and how these effects lead to dangerous and often deadly driving situations. The DADAP course also addresses several Texas laws that relate to the use of alcohol and other drugs while driving.

Who Can Take the DADAP Course?

ANY Texas driver can take the course voluntarily for a 3-year automobile insurance discount of up to 5%. The 6-hour DADAP course is required by certain courts when an individual has been convicted of an alcohol and / or traffic related offense. Texas law authorizes attendance of a DADAP course for satisfaction of several different types of offenses.

NOTE: Drivers who voluntarily attend BOTH a
Defensive Driving course and a DADAP course may be eligible to receive a total insurance discount of 15%.

NOTE:
The DADAP course cannot be taken for ticket dismissal. Drivers who wish to take a course for ticket dismissal should attend our
Defensive Driving course instead.

The course also explains several Texas traffic laws (especially those pertaining to the use of alcohol or drugs while driving) and explores traffic safety concepts through the use of the IPDE strategy for effective and risk-free driving.
